Vision for the Servant Heart Award: To reach more Pastors each year to encourage them that they are making an eternal difference in the lives of those they serve and that they are valued. And secondly, we desire to encourage congregations to hold yearly church wide celebrations to honor and encourage their Pastors.

“Servant Heart” Defined: A servant heart is marked by the selfless love and service that Christ modeled which is lived out in response to all God has done for us in Christ. It is an act of worshipping and glorifying God 24 hours a day, 7 days a week showing love, care and concern for others.

Character Qualities of a Servant Heart:

1. Christ centered life
2. Commitment to the calling
3. Sacrificial service – putting others needs first
4. Strong emphasis on prayer in their personal life and ministry
5. God’s Word is valued, preached and taught
6. Community presence to specific felt needs
7. Mission Minded – leads others to reach out in service at home and/or abroad
8. Outreach Oriented- shares the Gospel with others and leads others to share
9. Leads a balanced life – cares for themselves, their family and spouse
10. Joyful Spirit
11. Seeks God’s Direction – they are sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
